Sunshine

Today the sun is out, the sky is blue and the weather is too hot. I have to water the garden and the pots and tubs. In June we had only 62 per cent of our monthly rainfall and so this hot weather means we have hardly any water in our streams and rivers. I would like it if it could rain at night but this means the bats can't feed so maybe the early morning or evening would be better.
Sunshine makes us feel better, makes us more friendly, enjoy life. I love the heat. I also love the snow, it is just the damp inbetween weather I don't much enjoy. The sky is a beautiful blue and matches the paint around the windows.
The lanes are green and cool, with a slight breeze, the birds are singing and it is, at last, a proper summer's day.

yesterday

Yesterday was cold, wet and very windy leaves were blowing about and the flowers bent over with the weight of the rain and the force of the wind. I wore a thick fleece and still had cold hands, this is June, it should be the warmest time of the year. The longest day has gone and now we are on the downward slope to the shortest day. Some people like the winter withit's cold, frosty days, white snow and bare, black trees but I do not if I could life in a country that was forever April and May I would go there.

first and last

This is the beautiful place were I work. Not in the mansion but in the shop were I sell lovely things to the visitors.
I started this blog because before, in a quieter, calmer life, I used to write a diary or journel every day.Since my life has got more full with a sick mother and the afore mentioned job I have not written at all this is therefore the next best thing. If I don't write every day at least I will write something sometime.
Today I saw two rare birds, I won't say where because I don't want to be the cause of disruption in their lives. I felt so lucky to have been in the right place at the right time.
My garden is full of flowers and all we need now is a little more sunshine.
